“We really enjoyed the experience and LOVE the natural feel of the photos!”

“Karen has just sent us our beautiful photos from our family photoshoot! We’re delighted with them! We live in Arizona and contacted Karen back in the summer when we started planning our trip to Scotland to coincide with Thanksgiving. I had a Zoom call with Karen to discuss our plans, then went ahead with the booking.

Karen allowed us to split our photoshoot into two sessions: the first hour for our little family of three at Cromarty; and the second hour for our extended family at Erchless Castle, Struy, where we were staying. Karen had offered to be flexible and work around the weather but we got really lucky, with a lovely, bright, dry day, even although it was the end of November.

My husband and I had wanted coastal scenery with cliffs for our photoshoot with our daughter. Karen had recommended Cromarty, which was perfect. She was well-prepared with baby toys, so had no bother getting our little one to smile for the camera! We really enjoyed the experience and LOVE the natural feel of the photos, in the setting that we’d wanted.

Back at the castle, Karen captured photos of our extended family of 17, in the castle grounds and indoors on the staircase. Karen had taken the time to learn everyone’s names and had compiled a list of photos for us, with some combinations that we hadn’t even thought of. We’d asked Karen for a quick turnaround, so that we could use the photographs on our holiday cards, and she stepped up! The pictures were ready in just over a week and we all love the results; we’ll treasure the photos as a beautiful reminder of our vacation in Scotland.”

“So relaxed and easy!”

“We’re delighted we chose Karen to do our autumn family photoshoot! We’re a family of five with three girls, aged nine and six. We live in Inverness and wanted a local location for our photographs. We were torn between the beach and the woods when Karen suggested Rosemarkie, which turned out to be the perfect spot!

Karen had picked out some lovely locations in the woods for the first half of the session, including a collection of little fairy houses which the girls absolutely loved! We spent the second half of the photoshoot on the beach, so we got the variety of backdrops that we’d wanted in the photographs.

Karen had been happy to be flexible around the weather but we got really lucky on the day, with beautiful soft autumn light. She was accompanied by her husband Mark who was operating the lighting equipment. Karen and Mark chatted to us all throughout the photoshoot, which made it so relaxed and easy. We had such a lovely afternoon! Thank you so much for the photos, Karen. We absolutely love them!”

“Gorgeous photos!”

We love our family photos! I contacted Karen when we were planning our family holiday in Aviemore. A family photoshoot felt like the perfect way to mark the occasion of my parents’ Ruby wedding anniversary, and the birth of our baby boy. I had a chat with Karen and booked her Classic package for an hour-long session at the Craigellachie Nature Reserve.

Karen and Mark put us at ease immediately by chatting away with us on the short walk to Loch Puladdern. Karen had clearly done her homework as she’d picked out some lovely locations for our photos, with beautiful autumn backdrops!

Our niece was a little shy at times, but Karen and Mark got her on side and Karen captured plenty of gorgeous photos of her smiling and laughing. Karen captured a mix of naturally posed and completely candid pictures and over-delivered on the number of photos which was very kind! We’re all delighted with the results, which are lovely and bring back very happy memories of our holiday in Scotland!”

“An AMAZING collection of family photos!”

“We recently spent a holiday at Dallas Lodge, near Forres, to celebrate my parents’ ruby wedding anniversary. I was looking for a family photographer in the Moray area and was delighted to come across Karen’s website! I booked a phone call with Karen, and she totally understood what we were after – a very relaxed and informal family photoshoot.

With having very young children, the hour-long Classic package was the best fit for us. She was happy to be flexible and work around the weather and the kids’ routines! Karen arrived promptly on the day and helped to put us all at ease with her friendly manner – adults and children alike!

Karen was happy to take our suggestions for backdrops, as well as using her own ideas. The end result is an AMAZING collection of family photos which we will treasure! Karen over-delivered on the number of images – how incredibly kind! We’re delighted we booked Karen and can absolutely recommend her to anyone else looking for a photographer.”

“We can’t thank Karen enough for the treasures that are our beautiful images!”

“Karen was our family photographer when we stayed at Foulis Castle near Inverness last month. Our trip to Scotland had been postponed due to covid and so it was really special for all three generations of our family to be back together again. I knew that getting professional photographs done would be the perfect way to mark the occasion.

I’d really looked forward to the photoshoot and Karen’s communication beforehand was excellent. She’d even offered to be flexible with our date and time in order to fit in with the weather and our travel plans. On the day, Karen was with us for over two hours and managed to keep our young kids engaged throughout that time.

I’d asked Karen for natural photographs capturing the beauty of the surrounding area, and our family’s joy. Karen certainly delivered on that! She captured all the photographs in the immediate surroundings of our holiday cottage, which kept things stress-free during our session and it means that all the backdrops in the photos have special meaning for us.

We can’t thank Karen enough for the treasures that are our beautiful images! We really benefitted from Karen’s fantastic eye and patience and can highly recommend her to anyone planning a family photoshoot in the Highlands.”

“We’re delighted with our photographs – lots of lovely natural outdoor images”

“Karen did an autumn family photoshoot for us while we were on holiday in Aviemore in October. We’re delighted with the results! After first landing on Karen’s website, I booked a Zoom call with her, and it was really useful to chat things through face-to-face before the photoshoot. Karen was able to advise us on what to wear and she also alleviated any concerns I had, for instance, about the weather, or the kids acting up.

The weather was really mixed during our holiday, but Karen was very flexible and kept in touch in the run up to the photoshoot, as the forecast continued to change. We were really grateful to Karen for switching our date, to ensure the best conditions for the photography.

As I feared, my 18-month-old daughter had a few meltdowns during the photoshoot! It didn’t matter though, as Karen was very understanding and took it all in her stride. We were able to take time out for a nappy change and a snack boost, without this eating into the photography time.

We’re delighted with our family photographs – lots of lovely natural outdoor images, all making the most of the beautiful autumn colours, with the temper tantrums edited out! Thanks again Karen! We’ll definitely be back in touch again in future for another family session when the kids are a bit older!”

“Karen was friendly and smiley and put us at ease”

“Karen did a summer family photoshoot for us in Dornoch to celebrate my parents’ golden wedding anniversary. We booked Karen for her two-hour package, which was ideal, as it meant we could get photographs taken at two locations and we all had time to relax into the photoshoot and get a mixture of more traditional shots and completely candid pictures.

Karen arrived promptly and we really appreciated that she had taken the time to learn everyone’s names beforehand. Karen was friendly and smiley and helped to put us at ease. My niece was very shy at the start of the session but even she was smiling by the end of it!

We started the photoshoot in my parents’ garden, with Karen working through a list of different combinations. We then moved down to the beach and Karen captured very natural photos of us all interacting with each other and the kids playing together. Thanks again Karen – we’re so glad that we booked you to do our family photography!”

“Such a super experience and ideal for our very energetic kids!”

“We had a wonderful photoshoot with Karen November 2020 capturing the last of the autumn colours. Karen was professional, prompt and very well organised. We were well-informed before our shoot of what to expect and also some handy tips on what to wear.

On the day of the shoot Karen was lovely. We felt really at ease and it was very natural, like our usual Sunday family walk with the occasional pose for a picture. Karen was super quick at getting the edited images to us and very kindly gave us a few extra digital copies in our package. I would highly recommend Karen, it was such a super experience and ideal for our very energetic kids!”

“Really natural shots as well as the more traditional family photos”

“I contacted Karen to arrange a family photoshoot when we were on holiday recently near Inverness. Karen arranged a call with me at a time that suited, i.e. after the kids were in bed! She was able to answer my questions and suggest a few locations for our family session, before we decided on Dornoch beach.

Karen was waiting for us when we arrived in Dornoch and broke the ice by chatting with us and playing with the kids and our dog before starting the photography. After the boys played in the play area, we all went down to the beach and had great fun splashing in the waves, throwing a frisbee and playing rounders.

It meant that Karen was able to capture some really natural shots as well as the more traditional family photos. When the kids became tired, we sat on the beach with Karen and had a picnic. Afterwards we went for a walk along the beach. Karen would chat with us then nip ahead or drop behind in order to take some more photos, including several lovely ones of our dog!

Karen provided the digital images only a few days later and we were delighted with them! We’re really grateful to Karen for capturing our memories and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a family photographer in the Inverness area.”

“The whole experience was great fun and the photos are beautiful”

“Karen recently did a family photoshoot with us in Aviemore during our holiday in the Scottish Highlands. We enjoyed a walk in the woods with Karen (in line with the coronavirus restrictions!) and really appreciated how she took the time to bond with our three-year-old before starting to take photos.

We all felt totally relaxed around Karen and were able to be ourselves and interact naturally as a family. The whole experience was great fun and the photos are beautiful! We’re absolutely delighted with them! Karen captured this special time for us perfectly and we will definitely book another family session next time we’re in the Inverness area. Thank you Karen!”
