I was employed for nine years in the renewable energy industry before becoming a professional photographer. As a project manager, I was responsible for managing five onshore wind farm projects, ranging in size from 7.5 to 30 megawatts. I also provided support on numerous other sites.
I have a solid understanding of the needs of both developers and consultants, having managed consultants, deadlines and budgets for several Environmental Impact Assessments. I also have a sound grasp of what is required in terms of photography for Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments. Over the years, I’ve undertaken photography for several proposed wind farms, mobile phone masts and other developments.
Compliance with industry guidance
I’m experienced in complying with industry guidance produced by Scottish Natural Heritage, Highland Council and the Landscape Institute. I use professional quality photographic equipment to produce 360 degree imagery. I produce my own risk assessments and am fully insured.
Flexible and responsive
I’m based on the Black Isle near Inverness, an excellent ‘launch pad’ for the Highlands, Islands and Moray. I’m happy to travel further afield, throughout Scotland. I’m comfortable with lone working in remote areas and appreciate the need to be flexible and responsive to suitable weather conditions.
