A photographer you can trust

Hello! I’m Karen. I’m a full-time professional photographer specialising in wedding photography, landscape photography workshops, and LVIA photography. I’m passionate about creating high quality images and providing a first class service to all the clients I work with.

I’m based on the Black Isle near Inverness in the Highlands but I’m happy to travel further afield, throughout Scotland, to work with you. Please click the button below to find out more about me.

Bright and sunny wedding photograph showing a bride in a white dress and a groom in a kilt with their hands around each others' waists, facing away from the camera, overlooking a blue sea.

First and foremost, I am wedding photographer! I am hugely passionate about creating high quality natural images which will tell the story of your wedding, and providing a top quality service to all my couples. Most of my brides and grooms would describe themselves as camera shy, but I ensure this doesn’t come across in the photographs! I will take the time to get to know you both before the wedding, helping you to feel more relaxed in front of the camera and look your best.

“Our photographs are out of this world”

“We booked Karen for our wedding on 9th August 2019. We had an amazing service start to finish, with plenty of communication from the time of booking last year to the actual wedding day.

A lovely, bubbly lady who makes you feel at ease.

Our photographs are out of this world.

We got married in the Scottish Highlands and didn’t know the area well. Karen took beautiful pictures at the wedding venue and then, as an added personal touch, even took us to a few locations she recommended for additional shots.

Would highly recommend Karen for a professional, trustworthy and friendly service.”

Join me in Scotland’s great outdoors to develop your landscape photography skills. Learn from tutorials, one-to-one tuition in the field and critique sessions which will be delivered in a positive way with the intention of inspiring you, as opposed to denting your confidence!

I run single day workshops in the Black Isle, the Isle of Skye, Wester Ross and Torridon, and Assynt and Coigach, which are suited to beginners and more experienced photographers alike.

“There were many lightbulb moments during the day”

“I am so pleased that I booked this photography workshop with Karen at the start of our North Coast 500 tour.

I have been dabbling with my camera off of Auto for a while but had not fully got to grips with the manual settings. Karen quickly assessed my current level of ability and knowledge and built on this starting point.

I was quickly able to make the connections between terminology I had heard and its practical application. There were many lightbulb moments during the day as I developed my understanding.

Working one to one meant that progress was swift and I came away from the day with many new skills to practice over the coming weeks.”

An ethereal landscape image looking across a bay towards the sun which appears between a gap in the clouds. The colours are soft and the landscape is silhouetted.

A brightly coloured panorama looking down on to a wind farm of around 20 wind turbines on the summit of a hill. There is a fence in the foreground. The sky is a bright blue.

Before becoming a professional photographer, I worked as a project manager in the renewable energy industry and gained a solid understanding of the requirements of developers and landscape consultants, and a sound grasp of LVIA photography. I’ve undertaken LVIA photography for several proposed wind farms, mobile phone masts and other developments, and am experienced in complying with industry guidance.
