I’ll do my best to answer your wedding photography FAQs here but please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have a query which I haven’t addressed.

“We couldn’t have been more delighted!

From planning to delivery of the photos, Karen was excellent, and lovely to work with.

Most importantly, the photos are absolutely fantastic!

We can’t recommend highly enough!

This depends on which photography package you choose and your plans for the day. If you book one of my main packages, I'll arrive in the morning to photograph you getting ready (typically three hours before the ceremony), and will finish after the first few dances.

The emphasis will be on very natural, authentic images; real memories to look back on. I’ll capture lots of completely candid photographs throughout your wedding. However, I’ll blend this approach with some more traditional, classic photography, primarily during your group shots and your couple shots. Nothing will feel overly posed; I'll just give you some gentle direction.

We have so much stunning scenery here in Scotland; I love nothing more than weaving the local landscape into my photography when the opportunity arises. Even if you’re getting married in town, I’ll know the best locations for capturing some greenery in your pictures, without taking you away from the celebrations for too long.

Finally, I know how much thought goes into all the small details that add personal touches to your day. I have an eye for detail and I’ll make time to capture everything, with an artistic approach.

Yes, please do!

In the run up to the wedding, I'll send you a link to an online form and you can use this to let me know which group shots you'd like.

I recommend doing around 10-15 group shots and prioritising your closest family members, just so that this doesn't knock out too much of your time during the afternoon. I appreciate that some families, especially step-families, need more group shots. That's not a problem; we'll just have to factor this into our timings.

I’ll stay until the first few dances if you select one of my main photography packages.

If you choose a bespoke package, we’ll chat about the amount of photography coverage that you need.

Yes! I’m based near Inverness and I conduct most of my work in the Highlands (including Skye), Moray and Aberdeenshire. However, I'm also happy to travel further afield, e.g. to the Western Isles and Orkney and as far south as the Central Belt.

I’ve photographed weddings in Perthshire, Angus, Argyll, Edinburgh and Glasgow in the past and would gladly do so again.

Travelling is no problem but I might need to charge a little extra for longer distances, e.g. to cover ferry fares or if an overnight stay is involved.

Yes, absolutely! I’ve photographed plenty of winter weddings.

Due to the shorter daylight hours, you may need to give some extra thought to the timing of the ceremony if you’re planning on outdoor photographs afterwards.

I'd be delighted to capture your special day for you both. I’ll gladly take the time to discuss your vision for your wedding or civil partnership ceremony and exactly what you would like from the photographs.

I normally work alone and am completely comfortable doing so, regardless of the size of wedding.

A trusted and experienced second shooter is included in my Platinum photography package.

My Gold and Silver photography packages can be upgraded to include a second photographer.

Another option is to upgrade your package to include 'extended coverage' with myself. I'll start an hour earlier than usual, finish after the first six dances, and take a shorter break and work even harder than usual. Phew!

I know we’re living in the digital age but it’s absolutely vital to print your wedding photographs. Take a moment to think about the longevity of your images...

If you have a family, you’re going to want your wedding photographs to be passed down the generations, from your children to your grandchildren.

I hope that digital images will stand the test of time, but it’s not the same as having a beautifully presented wedding album; something to cherish throughout your married life.

I supply traditional matted albums (handmade in the UK by Jorgensen) which are beautifully finished using the highest quality materials. All the images are individually mounted and offer a timeless and robust alternative to printed books. The albums have lovely oatmeal linen covers and gold foil embossing.

I supply luxury wall art, created in Scotland, using the highest quality lustre photographic paper and mouldings in a selection of finishes. A range of sizes are available to suit different spaces within your home.

Any of my photography packages can be upgraded to include wall art. You're welcome to place your order either before or after your wedding.

A large 24" x 24" multi-print frame is included with my Platinum photography package.

You can find full details of my photography packages here.

My main photography packages all include the following:

* A comprehensive pre-wedding consultation via phone or video call to chat through the details of the day;

* Coverage from getting ready to the first few dances;

* Post-production in-house digital editing with each file carefully selected and edited in my signature, classic style;

* A password-protected online gallery to share with family and friends, with a facility for purchasing prints;

* High resolution printable images; and

* Commitment to providing you with beautiful imagery and products and the very highest standard of client service.

A choice of package upgrades are available for an additional fee.

Please don’t feel too restricted by the packages. I'd be delighted to offer you a bespoke package, if needed.

Within a week of the wedding, I'll provide 10 sample images for you to enjoy until I complete the rest of your editing.

I’ll individually edit all of your photographs to a high standard. The turnaround time will depend on my workload and the time of year.

Early in the wedding season, I might be able to complete all your editing within a week or two. Later in the year, especially by autumn, I'll probably have a bit of a backlog to deal with and it might take around four weeks.

My contract states that your images will be ready within a maximum of eight weeks. Don't worry, normally it'll be much quicker than this, but an eight-week window gives me some wiggle room if life throws something unexpected at me.

To confirm your booking, I’ll just need you to complete an online booking form and pay a 25% deposit. The remaining balance will be due two months before your wedding.

Please don’t put it off! My calendar fills up quickly, sometimes years in advance, and bookings are taken on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

Please get in touch and let’s start planning your wedding photography!
